who we arethe data controller
qila is a small startup based at Skylab, DTU Lyngby (Denmark), building head protection integrated into everyday clothing. When you share data with us through this site, qila is the data controller. You can reach us anytime at qilacph@gmail.com.
what we collectthe only thing we ask for
If you join the waitlist, we collect:
- your name (so we can address you as a person)
- your email address (so we can write to you)
- the timestamp of your signup
Nothing else. We don't ask for your address, age, gender, location, or anything that would let us build a profile of you. We don't run analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts on this site.
whywhat we do with it
We use your name and email for one thing only: to send you occasional updates from qila — field notes, product progress, and a heads-up when we ship. That's it. Your email is not shared, sold, rented, or otherwise handed to anyone outside qila. Ever.
The legal basis for processing is your consent, given when you submit the waitlist form. You can withdraw consent at any time (see below).
where it livesstorage
Waitlist signups are stored in a private Google Sheet that only the qila founders can access. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf. Google's infrastructure is GDPR-compliant; their privacy practices are documented at policies.google.com/privacy.
how longretention
We keep your data for as long as you want to hear from us, or until qila stops operating — whichever comes first. If you ask to be removed, we delete your row from the sheet within a few days.
your rightsunder GDPR
You have the right to:
- access the data we hold on you
- correct it if it's wrong
- delete it (right to be forgotten)
- object to its processing or withdraw consent
- export it in a portable format
- complain to the Danish Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) if you think we're handling your data wrongly — datatilsynet.dk
To exercise any of these rights, just write to qilacph@gmail.com. No forms, no friction.
cookies & trackingnone
We don't set tracking cookies on this site. We don't use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party tracker. The only browser storage we use is a small local value to remember a UI preference — it never leaves your device.
changesupdates to this notice
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and adjust the "last updated" date below. If the change is material — like adding a new data type or recipient — we'll also email everyone on the waitlist.
